It’s the most wonderful time of the year and the season of giving. With that in mind, The Three Rivers Media Giving Calendar Food Drive was born to benefit families in Wythe County and Hope Packs during the holiday season and coming winter months.
The Giving Calendar Food Drive will be held December 1st through Christmas Eve in Wythe County grocery stores. The drive is inspired by viral “reverse” advent calendars that have made the rounds on social media for the past few years during the Christmas season. Instead of receiving a gift in the days leading to Christmas, you make a donation in the spirit of giving .
Shopping carts for the drive will be hosted at most major grocery chains in Wythe County including Food City – Wytheville and Food Country locations in Max Meadows and Rural Retreat. Donations can also be dropped off in the lobby of Three Rivers Media studios in Wytheville during normal business hours. The drive is made possible in part with the support of several local businesses including Bland County Medical Clinic/Orchard Creek Clinic, Chrissy’s Primitives, Hitachi Energy – Bland, Martin’s Pharmacy, Java Blend Café, Southwestern Equipment, the SWVA Sun, and the Wytheville Dept. of Museums.
